Create and scope an API token

An API token authenticates your application. It can be restricted to one team and issued with read-only or write access.

Create a token

  1. As a verified admin, open “Account → API”.
  2. Give the token a clear name.
  3. Optionally select one team.
  4. Enable write access only if the integration must change data.
  5. Create the token and store it securely immediately.

Use it safely

The full token is shown only once and expires after one year. Send it as a Bearer token over HTTPS. Never place it in browser code, tickets, screenshots or a public repository. Revoke tokens that are no longer needed.

Read access is available on every plan. Write access is available during Trial and on Team or Team+.
